Meet Donna Carmichael

Health and Wellness Coach

My name is Donna Carmichael, and I am a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach receiving my Post Graduate training through Duke University Integrative Medicine.

I work with high achieving women who are successful professionally but find their health slipping –often during perimenopause and menopause. It’s a time when everything that used to work suddenly doesn’t.

I use evidence-based research in psychology, mindfulness and coaching to help to help women use their existing strengths to restore their health and wellbeing.  After building their careers and family they owe it to themselves to find their life again.

Health is the greatest achievement, and self-care is what allows everything to thrive.

Why Art of Joy

Health doesn’t change because we know what to do. It changes when we have the support, clarity, and accountability to actually live it.

For many women there comes a moment when pushing harder stops working. The career is established, The family is cared for but energy fades, stress lingers and the body doesn't respond the way it once did.

Hormonal Balance

Hormonal changes in perimenopause and menopause can disrupt sleep, mood, and energy…

Your body isn’t working against you, it’s asking for a different kind of care.

Coaching helps you understand your body and rebuild habits that truly support you now.

Stress Management

This phase of life calls for support, not more pressure.

Coaching bridges the gap from symptoms –> stress -> solution.

This season asks for a different response to what is happening in your body.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness isn’t about emptying your mind or “being calm all the time.”

It’s the ability to self-regulate and strengthen the relationship between your mind, body and spirit.

As an MBSR practitioner, I share tools that help you create space so you can be restored.

Self-Care

Self-care is not indulgent, It’s how to maintain your energy and resilience.

Coaching helps you find small consistent practices to help you come back to yourself.

It’s the foundation for achieving optimal health

Nutrition

Your nutrition impacts hormonal balance, energy, mood and metabolism.

Coaching helps you find the right solution that is sustainable and aligns with your body, lifestyle and nutritional goals.

Movement & Exercise

Exercise isn’t about pushing harder in this season of life.

It’s about moving in ways that make your body feel strong and supported.

Coaching explores ways you can maintain strength, support metabolism, Improve mood and protect your long term health.

Client Stories

The buck always stopped at me and  I’m used to figuring things out. When my body stopped responding the way it always had, I felt frustrated and ashamed. Donna brought science, compassion, and perspective. I learned this wasn’t a personal failure but  a transition. That mindset shift alone changed everything.
